‘Bee & Pollinator’ Friendly’ Cut Flower Patch. 2019 version.
Being that I am an all-around good egg….I have knocked off 20% I know the flowery folk of the UK and beyond are keen custodians of their patches of land and are on the lookout for ways to assist the bees and other pollinators that are struggling with lack of habitat. (This is an ‘early bird deal’ and will revert back to full price in the new year.)
These 10 packets can be direct sown into the soil from mid-April of sown undercover from late March (I wait until April…it’s easier).
I will be growing this collection this year and I shall be blogging it on the website. So please feel free to grow along with me if you want a helping hand.
The bees will love you.
The 10 packets are:
(These two are the big guns with regard to providing nectar….bees go crazy for them)
*Scabiosa ‘Back In Black’
*Nigella ‘Persian Jewels’
*Chrysanthemum ‘Rainbow Hippy Lovechild’
*Eschscholzia ‘Orange King’
*Cornflower ‘Blue Ball’
*Sunflower ‘Vanilla Ice’
PS You can, of course, add different varieties to your order (Kerching! #HardSell). Larkspur would be a great addition, the spires would add some interest. Calendula should really be in the collection but it’s having a year on the bench…’Art Shades’ would look handsome. This year I’ve included Cornflower ‘Classic Romantic’ but I’m sure lots of folk would also like ‘Blue Ball’. ….anyway…I don’t need to teach you how to suck eggs…you have your own flower tastes… Have fun!
