One has to tread carefully with Borage because it can…in the right conditions self seed like a terror. However it is such a wonderful plant for so many reasons that I just wouldn’t be without it. As a cut flower it offers the vase that ‘country style’ that all the lifestyle magazines love so much…(and why not)…
Bees go potty for it…and if that wasn’t enough you can eat the young leaves (treat them like spinach) and also the flowers…in salads or thrown into drinks…tres a la mode.
Grows up to 90cm
60ish seeds in a packet
Direct sow into the ground in mid April and through May. You can also sow in August for flowers the next spring.
