Eschscholzia or Californian Poppy as it is more commonly known has got to be one of the brightest feel good flowers I can think of. Its cheerful disposition coupled with its ease to grow make it a firm favourite in the Higgledy garden…despite the fact I can never pronounce its botanical name.
Folk may tell you it can’t be used as a cut flower…well it can…sear the ends of the stems in boiling water for 30 secsonds and it will last a good five days…plus, when the petals fall…just leave them around the vase…trust me…they will look super groovy.
