If you haven’t got around to sowing any annuals yet this year don’t worry, you are not alone. Our fair isles are awash with slackers and loafers just like you. To be fair there has been a very slow start to the season and you haven’t missed much.
This bundle of seeds contains 14 packets plus an extra packet of Dill we are throwing in for free because we are all around good eggs.
Your seeds contain a mix of hardy and half hardy annuals. I would be happy to sow mine direct into the soil now as they unlikely to be showing above the surface before the last frost has wobbled off. The seeds can also be sown into pots in a greenhouse and planted out later…or even sown into pots and kept outside until you decide when to plant them. This is the method I’ll be using as the patch of ground I have got earmarked for them is tricky to get water to. So I’ll keep them close to a tap…then plant them out when we have a few day’s rain at the end of May…and let them get on with it.
We have knocked off a massive THIRD …yes….33.33333333333% off the price! (It is a sort of end of spring sale.) #You’reWelcome
OK..so ‘what’s in the box, Mr Higgledy!’…well….listen ‘ere me hearties!…………….
*Aster ‘Ostrich Plume’ (Barbara Cartland on a stem.)
*Borage (For the bees.)
*Climbing nasturtium (Because your Granny would approve.)
*Cornflowers ‘Blue Ball’ (The most classic flower for cutting in the universe.)
*Cosmos ‘Sensation’ (For Barbie)
*Cosmos ‘Purity’ (For Mary Whitehouse)
*Nicotiana ‘Sensation’ (For the moths to enjoy pollinating)
*Dill ‘Mammoth’ (The giant zingy green can really transform a cutting patch…plant them among the others…not in rows.) #Freebie
*Nigella ‘Persian Jewels’ (I wouldn’t sow this in pots. It does better for me sown direct…one of the few seeds I sow in meter square blocks…but you can sow in rows.)
*Chrysanthemum ‘Rainbow Hippy Lovechild’ (Because I said so.)
*Sunflower ‘Valentine’ (Because Higgledy Anne said so.)
*Ipomoea ‘Heavenly Blue’ (Because Higgledy Gemma said so.)
*Night scented stock (New for us, this season…testing them out on you.) ;)
*Zinnia ‘Mammoth’ (These like a free draining soil…so add some compost if you can.)
Calendula ‘Art Shades’ (This will self sow for you, year in year out…..which is terrible for my business! Grrrr!)
This will make a stunning cut flower garden without any additional varieties….although, don’t let me stop you trying. (There may well be more seeds than you have room for…and if you’re too tight to share them with your mates (I wouldn’t either.) they will be fine for a year or more if you keep them dry, cool and in the dark….defo not in the greenhouse.)
All orders made this weekend will be dispatched Monday, first class.
