Centaurea Cynus – Cornflower ‘Blue Ball’

Cornflower ‘Blue Ball’ is the classic blue cornflower—bright, bold, and full of country charm. Its vivid, true-blue blooms sit atop tall, slender stems and are perfect for cutting, weaving into bouquets, or adding cheerful pops of colour to borders and wildflower patches.

A hardy annual that thrives in poor soil and full sun, ‘Blue Ball’ is easy to grow and flowers for weeks if regularly picked. It’s also a firm favourite with bees and other pollinators. The more you cut, the more it gives—a generous, good-natured plant.

Sow seeds direct in autumn (September to October) for early flowers, or in spring (March to May) for a summer display. Thin seedlings to about 20cm apart. Low maintenance and reliable, it’s ideal for beginners and seasoned gardeners alike.
