Cornflower ‘Classic Romantic’ is a soft, dreamy mix of pastel pinks, blush whites, and the occasional pale lavender—perfect for bringing a gentle, romantic feel to your cutting patch or borders. These blooms are delicate in tone but tough in nature, thriving in poor soil and full sun with very little fuss.
Like all cornflowers, they’re generous bloomers. The more you cut, the more they flower—ideal for keeping vases full all summer. Their light, airy petals look especially lovely in cottage garden bouquets, and they’re much loved by bees and butterflies too.
Sow direct in autumn for an earlier show the following year, or sow in spring (March to May) for summer blooms. Thin seedlings to about 20cm apart. Little maintenance needed—just water them in and let them get on with it.
