Climbing Nasturtium.

This tall climbing mix of nasturtiums is perfect for adding a splash of colour and a touch of wild charm to fences, trellises, wigwams, and even the veg patch. Expect a cheerful tangle of blooms in rich reds, warm oranges, and sunny yellows, all set against lush, trailing foliage.

These fast-growing annuals are easy as anything to grow and thrive in poor soil—too much fertility, and you’ll get more leaf than flower. They’ll scramble up supports or trail down from hanging baskets with equal enthusiasm.

Sow direct from April to June, or start indoors a little earlier and plant out after the last frost. Space plants about 25–30cm apart. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil.

Edible too—both the leaves and flowers have a peppery bite that’s great in salads. A hit with bees and hoverflies.
