Larkspur ‘Giant Hyacinth’

Larkspur ‘Hyacinth’ is a stately and elegant annual with densely packed flower spikes in cool shades of mauve, lavender, and icy lilac. It brings height, grace, and a touch of wild romance to the summer garden. The blooms are particularly long-lasting in the vase, making them a favourite among cut flower growers.

Despite their refined look, larkspurs are hardy and easy to grow. Sow in autumn or early spring for best results—plants need a period of cold to germinate well. Perfect for the back of borders or dotted through a cutting patch, they add vertical interest and a delicate, cottagey charm.

Sow direct from September to October or in March to April. Seeds benefit from a chill—either sow in situ or pre-chill in the fridge for a week before spring sowing. Thin seedlings to 20–30cm apart.
