Ahoy there!
Just a quick update. We have now sown up close to 250 pots and put them in the greenhouse at Taraloka (Buddhist retreat centre) to grow them on before planting out in May.
Everything has been sown into Melcourt peat-free compost. I am using my old three-inch square pots. I generally knock down the seedlings to one per pot. You don’t want crowded seedlings….it’s a false economy. Seedlings can stay in pots this size for weeks and weeks without issue.
In a couple of weeks I will come back to prepare some ground and think about starting to plant out. I will then refill and resow the pots for another crop. There is no rush to get everything sown early.
I hope your own seedlings are doing well if indeed you have sown anything yet.
Kindest regards
Ben
