Sow in early autumn. The first couple of weeks in September is usually about right but the last fortnight is acceptable. These hardy annuals will get their roots down through the winter and rocket forth in the spring. They require considerably less watering (if any) than spring sown seeds. If you miss the autumn sowing window these seeds will be fine for sowing in the spring too. Sow half and half for a longer season if you’re feeling fruity.
Rake your soil to a fine tilth. Scatter your seeds lightly and evenly…rake again…perhaps sing a couple of verses of your favourite sowing song…give the patch a light watering if it needs it. Walk away and leave the Goddess Flora to look after things. Simples.
Important note: You will get a natty printed postcard with the mix that has some growing blurb and info on it. These have a slightly different list of varieties. I took three out as they didn’t perform well last winter and changed them with some in the above list. :)
