Higgledy Anne has recommended this after growing it for the first time this year. A stately biennial in shades of blue, purple, lilac, white and pink. Large bell shaped flowers on tall stems that seemed to glow in the sunshine. A classic of cottage gardens but don’t be fooled there is nothing old-fashioned about these. Looked fabulous in a vase with Cornflowers, Cosmos, Phlox and Ammi. They also last for ages once cut. In the garden they make big plants so may need some supporting and once you have picked the first stems you get lots of shorter stems to follow.
Around 1000 seeds in a packet.
Sow June-July for flowering the following spring. Hardy Biennial.
Canterbury Bells ‘Single Mix’. Campanula medium
